Marseille Cardigan (English)

£6.50

This pattern is in English.

The Marseille Cardigan is a classic and timeless piece which adds sophistication to any outfit. With a slightly cropped length and perfect fit, it pairs great with both regular and high waisted jeans or a summer dress. Ideal for strolling the evening streets of France or relaxing on the deck of a boat in the Mediterranean Sea.

The cardigan is worked from the top down. First the back is worked back and forth with increases to shape the shoulders. Stitches are then picked up along the slanting sides of the back yoke to form each shoulder and worked back and forth. Stitches are then picked up and knitted along the sides of the shoulders and the rest of the yoke is worked together back and forth whilst shaping the neck. The sleeve stitches are placed on hold, whilst working the body back and forth until the desired length is achieved. The body is finished with ribbing. The sleeves are then worked in the round with decreases to taper the sleeves until finishing with ribbing. Stitches are then picked up along each edge of the cardigan to work the button bands in ribbing. Finally, the neck is worked by picking up stitches along the neck edge and button band and working ribbing.
